Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026
In short
- We collect public business information to make website previews, the details you give us as a client, and the requests your customers send through your website.
- Payments go through PayPal: we never see your card number. Website visitor statistics are cookie-free.
- We don’t sell personal information or use it for advertising. You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information, or to stop contacting you.
1. Who this policy is for
This policy explains how Site Made Easy (“we”, “us”) handles information about: businesses we make website previews for, our clients, people who use our client portal, visitors to the websites we host who send a request through them, and visitors to sitemadeeasy.app.
2. What we collect and where it comes from
- Public business information: business name, category, address, phone, public email, current website, opening hours, Google rating and number of reviews, and public photos. We get it from public sources such as Google, OpenStreetMap and the business’s own website.
- Information you give us: your name, email, phone, business details, photos and logo, the Google account email you share for your Google profile, and your messages and change requests.
- Payment information: PayPal processes payments. We receive the payer’s name and email, the amount, and PayPal’s order and subscription references and status. We never see or store card numbers.
- Preview activity: when someone opens a preview link we record the visit, whether it was on a phone or a computer, and clicks such as “Get this website”, linked to that preview.
- Client portal: your sign-in email and the sign-in codes we email you. A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in.
- Requests sent through your website: whatever the visitor enters, such as name, phone, email, message, the service they need, a preferred time and an address.
- Website statistics: the websites we host use Umami, a cookie-free analytics tool. It counts page views, where visitors came from, device and browser type, country, and clicks such as “Call now” or a form being sent. It doesn’t use cookies or follow people across other websites.
- Technical logs: IP addresses, browser details and error logs, used to keep the service secure and working.
3. How we use it
- To make website previews and contact businesses about them.
- To build, publish, host and improve your website, and to deliver your plan (monthly reports, checks, Google profile updates, review requests and ranking checks).
- To pass requests from your website to you by email and in your client portal, and to send the visitor an automatic “we got your request” email.
- To take payments, send invoices, and keep accounting records.
- To answer your messages, keep the service secure, and fix problems.
For requests sent through a client’s website, we act for that business: the business decides what to do with the request.
4. AI tools
We use AI models (through the OpenRouter service) to help write website text and summaries. We send them business information such as the name, services, location and description. We don’t send payment information.
6. If we contacted your business
We may email a business about a website preview using the contact details it publishes. If you don’t want to hear from us, reply “unsubscribe” or email hello@sitemadeeasy.app and we won’t contact you again. You can also ask us to delete your preview and the information we hold about your business.
8. How long we keep information
Previews that aren’t used are removed after about four months. Backups are encrypted and kept for up to 30 days. Client information is kept while you are a client, and afterwards only as long as needed for accounting, legal obligations and resolving disputes.
9. Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections. Our team signs in with two-factor authentication, and backups are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you.
10. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for contacting you. Email hello@sitemadeeasy.app. We may need to keep some records (for example payment records) where the law requires it. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
11. Children
Our services are for businesses. They are not meant for children, and we don’t knowingly collect information about children.
12. Where information is processed
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. We use providers that protect information to industry standards.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version, and we will tell clients about important changes by email or in the client portal.
14. Contact
Privacy questions or requests: email hello@sitemadeeasy.app.
